The supplement most men ignore after 40, the portfolio move high earners miss, and what the sex data says about your marriage

You're doing most things right. The nagging question at your level isn't whether to try harder. It's whether there's something small you've been consistently overlooking.

"Trifles make perfection, and perfection is no trifle." Michelangelo

Performance

If you're training consistently but not taking this, you're leaving real results on the floor.

The cheapest, most researched supplement most men over 40 don't take

There's a compound your muscles already rely on for explosive energy. Your body makes some, you get a bit from red meat, and after 40 your natural supply gradually declines. It's creatine, and you're probably not getting enough of it.

A 2025 review of six studies covering 1,542 older adults found that five of the six reported a positive relationship between creatine and memory and focus. The muscle evidence is even stronger: creatine monohydrate combined with resistance training consistently helps preserve muscle mass and strength as you age.

Most men write creatine off as a bodybuilder's supplement. It's actually one of the most thoroughly studied compounds in sports science, and its benefits extend well beyond the gym as you get older.

The action: Pick up a bag of creatine monohydrate (not any fancy variation; the plain monohydrate form has all the research behind it). Take 3 to 5 grams a day, any time, with or without food. That's it.

Freedom

There's a number in your portfolio that tells you exactly how exposed you are when markets fall.

The portfolio gap that leaves most high earners exposed

If you've been building wealth through a pension, 401k, or investment account, you're probably almost entirely in stocks. That's not a bad thing. The S&P 500 has returned around 10% a year over the long term, and stocks are the engine of most wealth-building. But they have a weakness: they all move together.

When the stock market falls, nearly all your portfolio falls with it. Private real estate doesn't work that way. Over the last decade, private real estate has moved in the opposite direction from stocks, with a negative 0.28 relationship meaning when markets dip, real estate has historically tended to hold or rise. A Cornell University study found the ideal amount of real estate to hold in a balanced portfolio sits between 9 and 20%.

Most men in their 40s and 50s have between 0 and 5% of their wealth in real estate, not counting their home. That's a meaningful gap in their protection against a stock market downturn.

The action: Open your investment account today and note roughly what percentage sits in stocks versus anything else. If it's more than 90% stocks, you've found your gap. You don't need to act today, but knowing the number is the first step.

Connection

The data on what actually drives relationship satisfaction over time is probably the opposite of what you'd expect.

Sex, marriage, and the number that actually matters

Research consistently shows that couples who have sex once a week report the highest relationship satisfaction. Not twice a week. Not daily. Once a week is the sweet spot, and having sex more often doesn't push the needle any higher.

What makes this surprising is which one causes which. Most people assume a happy relationship leads to more sex. But research published in Psychological Science found that sexual satisfaction predicts future relationship satisfaction, not just the other way around. The physical side of your relationship isn't just a symptom of how things are going. It's a driver of where things are heading.

In studies of couples where sex happens less than once a month, only 17% describe themselves as satisfied in their relationship. At once a week, that figure jumps to more than 85%.

The action: No system required. If it's been more than a week, make it happen tonight or plan something specific this week. Not as a performance target. Because it matters to both of you, even if neither of you has said that out loud recently.

Three things quietly shaping your life right now: what you're putting in your body, the gaps in your portfolio, and how physically connected you are to your wife. You've got the information. The gap between knowing and doing is where men actually differ from each other.

If you're done just knowing, reply with STRONG LIFE and we'll map out what this looks like for you specifically.

Keep building.
